One of the reasons for the historically low inventory is because million of people refinanced taking advantage of the very low interest rates during the pandemic and just don't see themselves selling the property with a mortgage rate and taking on a new mortgage at the current higher rates. For the some buyers, when the rates first went up in March of 2022, their dreams of home ownership were put on hold by the new interest rates.
