David Ako Abunaw III is an associate in the New York office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher focusing his practice in corporate law. David earned his Juris Doctor from Penn Carey Law School in 2023, where he served as an Associate Editor of the Journal of International Law and chaired the UPenn Law Entertainment and Sports Law Society. During his time at UPenn, he interned at Discovery Inc. (Now Warner Bros. Discovery) and externed at the UPenn Athletics Compliance office. While attending UPenn, David also received a Certificate in Management from The Wharton School and studied Sports Law at ESADE Law School in Barcelona, Spain. David holds a Master of Science in Sport Management from the University of Connecticut and a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies from the Bryant University, where he graduated a semester early in 2016. He was a member of the NCAA Division I soccer teams at both UConn and Bryant. David is admitted to practice in the State of New York.
