Daniel's team forecasted and analyzed the impacts of nonfinancial factors - such as policy, regulatory and geopolitical dynamics - on asset prices. In this role, he helped bridge the gap between asset managers and policy makers, supercharging investors' ability to capture actionable insight, identify new opportunities created by government initiatives, fill gaps in models, enhance conviction and mitigate risks.Previously, Daniel was a partner and the leader of the intelligence & research group at a premier global risk consultancy, where he helped a wide range of investment firms and corporations achieve their goals throughout the world. He was a member of the New York Police Department's Counter Terrorism Bureau, serving as an intelligence officer and lead civilian aide to the deputy commissioner for counter terrorism.Daniel also lived and worked in East Asia, where he established and managed a risk assessment and investment advisory firm, as well as in Beirut, Lebanon, where he was an analyst with an international consultancy focused on terrorism, war, social upheaval and political risks.Daniel began his career as an investigative reporter and assistant editor for in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.Daniel received his Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Anthropology, and Master of International Affairs in International Security Policy, both from Columbia University.
