CODY AKINS represents individuals and corporations in all stages of litigation, with a focus on appeals and critical motions. Before joining Sidley, Cody served as a law clerk to the Honorable Joan L. Larsen of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the Honorable Diane S. Sykes of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Cody earned his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law, where he graduated with High Honors. During law school, Cody was an articles editor for the Texas Law Review . As a member of the Texas Law Supreme Court Clinic, Cody assisted in drafting both certiorari- and merits-stage briefs in cases before the U.S. Supreme Court. Prior to law school, Cody worked as an electrical engineer at an international test-and-measurement company, providing technical consulting for clients in the aerospace and defense industries. He holds an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Texas at Dallas.
