Carolina Lopez is a litigation attorney in Holland & Knight's New York office. Ms. Lopez focuses her practice on a variety of litigation, construction and international arbitration matters. Ms. Lopez's diverse litigation practice includes representation of clients in commercial disputes and cross-border litigation and arbitration, and she has experience representing clients in complex contract disputes in federal and state courts. Ms. Lopez also has experience with all phases of the discovery and e-discovery process from acquiring, analyzing and producing documents efficiently to preparing for the defense and affirmative side for depositions and hearing. She has advised clients in foreign country judgment recognition and enforcement, including the use of various U.S. procedures for asset discovery, restraint and execution, including 28 U.S.C. SS 1782 and state procedures. In addition, Ms. Lopez has experience advising clients on doing business in Latin America and in international arbitration matters, including investment cases and construction disputes as well as maritime arbitrations. Her experience in arbitration includes domestic and cross-border proceedings under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR) and Society of Maritime Arbitrators (SMA). Prior to rejoining Holland & Knight in New York, Ms. Lopez was an attorney in the Bogota office, where she handled corporate law, project finance, mining law, litigation in civil court proceedings and local and international arbitration proceedings.
