Kevin Brent Blankenburg

Brent Blankenburg is, and always has been in the business of helping people. Before getting into the mortgage industry in 2013, Brent was a licensed Financial Advisor helping middle-class Americans prepare for retirement. As a "Big Brother" (through the Big Brother, Big Sister Program) he realized great potential for helping lower-income Americans with financial literacy, and dreams of developing an educational platform that will be palatable for the masses. Because of these life experiences and personality traits, Brent prides himself on helping those who feel underserved by the traditional lending channels, such as people with low credit scores or people who need down payment assistance. In addition to volunteering his time to his "little brother", he also volunteered as the Treasurer for a local community band called Rocky Mountain Brassworks for 4 years. But the only instruments he understands are financial instruments, so he could be of no use playing in the band. Brent has found a true love and passion in teaching others about what he has learned through the mortgage business and real estate investing. He first started teaching CE classes in Colorado in 2017 and is always energized when he gets to educate the CO real estate community. Brent is also a real estate investor and owns homes in both Colorado and Texas. He has current, and extensive personal experience with both short-term and long-term rentals. He and his wife Kim have been Air BnB hosts since 2014. This has greatly improved and accelerated their financial goals, and they love getting to share their experience with others who are interested in improving their financial lives. When he is not working, or volunteering his time, Brent has many hobbies. He is passionate about board sports, so in the winter he Snowboards, and in the summer he Wakeboards (or tries to surf if he is somewhere tropical). And depending on the time of year you can also find him; playing volleyball, gardening, rock climbing, mountain or road biking, doing yoga, backpacking/camping, golfing, playing Frisbee, traveling, or doing anything else outdoors.
