A graduate of Brigham Young University, he rose to the rank of Assistant District Attorney (#3) in the Orange County District Attorney's Office before leaving to accept a full time position as a law school professor. His state and federal court experience includes extensive trial and appellate work on a variety of matters including death penalty cases.
