Barton Morris was born and raised in the Metro Detroit Area. He graduated from the Haworth College of Business at Western Michigan University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. In 1998 Barton earned a Juris Doctor from Michigan State University School of Law. During law school Barton clerked for Oakland County Circuit Judge Honorable David F. Breck. Since 1999 Barton has practiced excusively criminal defense. He has also graduated from several professional educational endeavors including NACDL's National Criminal Defense College in 1999 and the Gerry Spence acclaimed Trial Lawyer's College in 2012. Barton Morris is also the only Michigan attorney to be designated by the American Chemical Society as an Attorney Forensic Scientist having completed over 120 hours of education and hands on laboratory work in Forensic Science and passing a comprehensive examination. He is a member of the American Chemical Society, American Association of Forensic Scientists, National College of DUI Defense, the Federal Bar Association Criminal Practice Committee, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers as well as Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan. Barton Morris is a founding member and sits on the Board of Directors of the Michigan Association of OWI Attorneys and is a Founding Member and Trustee of the DUI Defense Lawyer's Association Foundation. Barton Morris has been selected a Top Attorney in Metro Detroit for 2012, 2013 and 2014 and was selected a Super Lawyer in 2015.
