This exacting attention to detail enables him to actively manage assets on behalf of individual clients.Barney is a graduate of the University of California, Riverside, and holds a B.S. in Economics. He attended graduate school at Colorado State University, where he participated in its master's program in Economics on a full academic scholarship.Originally planning to work in academia as an economics professor, Barney shifted his focus to finance and leverages his educational background to help clients understand all elements of their portfolios. He is passionate about the markets and enjoys exceptional exposure to a broad spectrum of innovative, actionable ideas.With over 25 years of wealth management experience, Barney began his career at Merrill Lynch and Piper Jaffray before joining J.P. Morgan predecessor firm in 2006. There, he became a founding partner of the Seattle Branch. Barney is pleased to tap the firm's robust investment platform, opportunistic ideas and award-winning research team for the benefit of his clients.Barney lives in West Seattle with his wife, Rachelle, and their two children, Zoe and Sam. In his spare time, he can be found outdoors, and is a ski mountaineer and a ski designer for several major manufacturers. Barney and his family travel the Pacific Northwest to pursue his children's ski racing adventures.
