Mr. Broder is a very experienced general practice lawyer, and a litigator who has tried cases in state and federal court, representing plaintiffs and defendants. His litigation experience is quite broad, including a variety of business lawsuits, health care lawsuits (involving, among other things, end-of-life decisionmaking cases throughout the Michigan appellate court system), and probate matters. One of Mr. Broder's right-to-die cases was followed extensively on Court TV, and was broadcast nationally.Mr. Broder has also published several law review articles in the end-of-life decisionmaking field. He also received recognition by the Thomas M. Cooley Law School for appellate advocacy, and a brief he filed in the Michigan Supreme Court was published in the Cooley Law Review. Mr. Broder has taught an end-of-life decisionmaking seminar at the University of Michigan Law School during the past several years, and he authors a chapter on end-of-life decision-making in a publication of the Institute of Continuine Education. He is also actively involved in estate planning, business transactins, real estate and contract law.Mr. Broder devotes part of his practice to helping families involved in difficult disputes within the family, or with doctors and hospitals, involving proper care (or the withdrawal of care) address those disputes in a helpful and thoughtful way, with the hope that they can be resolved without the need to go to court. Mr. Broder has also been extensively involved in right-to-die lawsuits which have been litigated throughout the courts of Michigan.
