Ana Maria is a member of the firm's Global Commercial Disputes team and works on various commercial litigation and arbitration matters. She represents and advises clients in a range of domestic and cross-border commercial and fraud disputes brought in state and federal courts, including issues of jurisdiction, forum non conveniens, and enforcement of challenged arbitration clauses.A Cuban-American and Miami native, Ana Maria speaks fluent Spanish. She is licensed to practice law in both common law and civil code jurisdictions. Out of law school, Ana Maria clerked at the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico after obtaining the third-highest score on the Puerto Rico bar exam. Ana Maria's professional experience, coupled with her appreciation of the cultural differences in the practice of law abroad, brings a unique set of skills to the table when it comes to effectively representing Reed Smith's clients in domestic and international disputes.
