Before entering private practice, Alan clerked for United States District Judge Sharon Lovelace Blackburn in the Northern District of Alabama.Alan received his Juris Doctor from Rutgers University Law School in 1994, where he was an editor of the Law Review. He earned his Masters in Business Administration with honors from Southern Methodist University in 1986. Alan graduated from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in 1980.
