AL SCHMELZ - In the course of a 40 year career in all aspects of Real Estate Development (commercial and residential), investment and asset management, I have proven to be a skilled professional, visionary entrepreneur and a resourceful trouble shooter. I have worked on the teams of Cavalier Homes, Gosnell Builders and AGS Development, Inc., serving as sales management, Director of Construction and Real Estate, Broker and General Contractor. My team and I have worked in the Bankruptcy field with a number of Trustees over the last 10 years, serving as a Designated Broker and Real Estate Consultant. Transactions have included residential/commercial properties, land parcels, businesses and various personal property. Over my career, I have assisted in the growth and development of a new home builder, Cavalier Homes, into sales of 1500 homes, which was later sold to Olin-American. I was part of a management development team that developed three Five-Star Five Diamond destination resorts and golf courses known as the Pointe Resorts in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1993, was development partner in a 1,000 acre gentleman's ranch in Grayhawk, California. It consisted of a Master planned community of a golf course, custom homes, hotel site and equestrian center. I have conducted real estate sales and development for 33 years as a Real Estate Broker in Arizona. In 1998, a custom home division of AGS Development Inc. was founded, concentrating in the north Scottsdale area. I am originally from Whittier, California and came to Arizona to attend Arizona State University in 1962. I played Varsity Basketball and Baseball at Arizona State University. After Arizona State, I played professional baseball with the New York Mets for 5 years and retired with the Kansas City Royals. I am a current member of ASU Basketball Alumni Committee and President of the Board of Directors of Arizona Baseball Charities, a Major League Baseball Alumni Group MARY ANN SCHMELZ - Associate Broker - Mary Ann has had a real estate license since 1984. Mary Ann retired from Qwest Communications in 2002 after a 30 year career in a multitude of sales and service positions. After retiring, she started a full time career in Real Estate. The core of her business is traditional real estate for Buyer's Seller's however, her most rewarding work is volunteering as a Homeowner Advocate for homeowner's that are in active foreclosures and want to save their homes. Mary Ann gives her time free of charge to help homeowner's work with their Lenders in applying for Loan Modifications, Loan Modification Denials/Appeals and other options to create the best outcome for them. She does this as a way of paying it forward. She loves this work and along the way she builds great relationships with people that she has helped.
