AKSHAY RAO advises on a broad range of M&A, private equity, and corporate transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, restructurings, joint ventures/co-investments and management arrangements. Akshay recently completed a year-long secondment at Fortress Investment Group, where he focussed on private equity and credit transactions in the UK, Germany, Netherlands and Spain. Akshay is a member of the team that was honoured as "Private Equity Team of the Year" at the 2021 Legal Business Awards. Prior to joining Sidley, Akshay trained and qualified as a solicitor in Australia at another leading international law firm. Akshay earned his Bachelor in Commerce and Bachelor in Laws from the University of New South Wales, where he represented the university in the Philip C.
