Vickie distinguishes herself, among more than 10,000 loan officers, with an incredible 5.0 star rating among a growing 128 reviews. Her priority is her customers. The results of her earnest care for her client’s lives, outside of just her loan officer duties, is faithful customers, incredible client relationships, and reliable referrals.
Vickie’s dare devil personality has led her to many adventures; she has traveled to Budapest, run rapids, and skydived. Outside of work, she also raises and sells organic pigs, raises and rides horses, and has four boys that are all fully grown. With the busy life that comes with loan originating, Vickie tells us that cleaning her barns and taking care of her ranch is her way of unwinding and relaxing. She also loves music, especially the excitement of live venues, and she couples that with her love for dancing. To top it all off, she gets in at least 5 miles of running a day.


Vickie has traveled the lending world since 1984, from underwriting to managing. And she has built success stories across the board. From building a First Magnus branch to over 25 million a month, to attacking the 2008 financial crisis head on while starting her own broker shop, and finally to her current success as a branch manager at American Financial Mortgage, Vickie is a true industry rockstar.

What is your greatest achievement and how has it shaped you?
My clients….they are my greatest achievement. Seeing them get into their homes, knowing how happy they are. Working through issues with them. Making sure they know if there is a problem I will handle it and that the only time they have to worry is if I tell them it’s time to worry. I do this because I love the job and I am a firm believer that homes are stability and children need that stability. They become better humans if they can breathe in their own space. My clients humble me. They remind me daily of what is important in life. They will actually yell at me and tell me to take time off or go have diner with my husband. They take care of me as much as I take care of them.

The process of originating and closing loans is complicated. How are you able to make it easy and seamless for your clients?

They can call me or text me at any time. We explain everything at each step of the way.

In order to be successful, you often must juggle multiple customers and priorities. How do you show each and every client that you really care?
Answer their calls, be available to them, build a team that is sales driven. My clients know I care. I have been told that I am part loan officer, part counselor. They can come in or call me about anything. I have given marriage advice, children advice, counseled on budgeting. I have had clients open up to me when a child has passed or a parent. I have an opened heart and they know it and I listen…I always listen.



Is there anything else you would like to share with other loan originators. Tips? Words of wisdom? Advice?
Be honest with your clients. Never lead them down a primrose path. Listen to what they have to say, to what their concerns are. Treat your staff like family – they are what makes or breaks you.

What does your current lender do that helps you be successful?

They are always there for me. If I need help I can always get ahold of someone. They also leave me alone and let me do my job. They don’t ride me or make me do a hundred reports. They know I just keep going forward and they are good about letting me do that.
