[special_heading type=”h4″]TJ has such impressive results we were curious to know more. He shared some valuable advice and marketing strategies:[/special_heading]

Share with us your methods for getting clients? What types of marketing do you do? How do you get referrals?
I think communication and consistency are what has helped me get clients/referrals because people are busy and they want their information in a timely fashion. Also, consistency is what it’s all about. You can’t occasionally do things in this business.” He also tells us that in order to retain his customers he does “hand written notes everyday and I go to every settlement. All of my pictures from settlement go on social media.

[blockquote type=”2″ position=”default”]Communication is key[/blockquote]
The process of originating and closing loans is complicated. How are you able to make it easy and seamless for your clients?
Again, communication is the #1 thing I have focused on. They can get rates and a mortgage anywhere but they’re referred to me for a reason. People have jobs, family, friends, and hardships. My goal is to make the home buying process easy and it has worked so far.
Your customers have reported that you can be trusted with their most important financial decision, what do you do to continue to earn that trust? What does that trust mean to you?
My borrowers are the reason my business is what it is. Communication sets the foundation for the whole transaction. If you over promise and under-deliver you haven’t done your job. I send weekly updates to my borrowers and agents. People can get a mortgage anywhere but they can’t receive the same service. I am 100% referral based and I pride myself on that. It is my job to get them the best financing possible.

In order to be successful, you often must juggle multiple customers and priorities. How do you show each and every client that you really care?
The one thing you never say is ‘I’m sorry I was busy’. Your customers know you’re busy. I always send a text if I miss their call because it points out a time frame that you will call them back.

Is there anything else you would like to share with other loan originators? Tips? Words of wisdom? Advice?
My advice is to see as many files as you can. Also, consistency is so crucial to this business because so many people just aren’t willing to go the extra mile. Confidence is contagious and complacency is cancer. I truly think this hits our business right on the head.
He points out “Just because you are doing well now doesn’t mean you can take it easy. You will start to slip and lose what got you to that point.”

What does your current lender do that helps you be successful?
My company is why I am able to do what I do. From top to bottom it is first class. We have processing, underwriting, closing, funding, compliance manager, branch managers, a full marketing team and the division president all under one roof. For someone who came into this business less than 3 years ago with no experience, I couldn’t have landed at a better spot.
