3D technology comes to the job marketplace

Veronica C. | April 11, 2012

While it initially started out as a fun gimmick to attract viewers to family films like Journey to the Center of the Earth, 3D technology has become one of the latest technology crazes. Today, it seems like every other major blockbuster is specially shot for the ultimate 3D movie experience. This technology has also spread to handheld gaming systems and flat screen televisions. Now, job seekers can also enjoy a three dimensional experience while browsing available job opportunities from their mobile device, according to Ere.net.

Cummins, an Indiana company that designs and manufactures high-powered diesel engines, has recently launched a mobile job app, which is currently available on the iPhone and will come to Android soon as well. Regarding its 3D capabilities, Cummins has built in an interactive diesel engine that users can inspect from every possible angle.

However, the app isn't all about 3D gimmicks. Users can also access a broad range of information regarding available job postings. According to Cummins' website career seekers can view videos, subscribe to job feeds, share listings with friends, learn about the company's history, investigate different global opportunities and much more. This 3D app is another step forward in the evolution of mobile recruiting.
