Experience and LinkedIn Team Up to Bring Online Professional Networking to Colleges and Universities
Industry-leading Collaboration Transforms Job Search Process for Students, Alumni
Mountain View, CA and Boston, MA — September 14, 2011 —Experience, the leading provider of career services for colleges and universities, today announced the integration of LinkedIn technology and profile information into Experience’s university-endorsed platform, currently used by millions of college students and alumni.
Today’s move is the first of a multi-faceted offering by Experience and LinkedIn, aimed at empowering connections between undergraduate students and alumni in order to maximize the value of college networks and to support career counselors as they seek to provide assistance during the career development process. The new collaboration between LinkedIn and Experience will enhance the Experience services by integrating advanced alumni networking capabilities powered by LinkedIn, and will expand LinkedIn’s student reach by including Experience’s network of five million students and alumni, and new features including:
- Jobseekers will be able to network with fellow students and alumni from their schools and stay updated on the latest discussions in their LinkedIn alumni groups when searching Experience’s college-focused jobs database, all from within their Experience dashboard;
- University career counselors will be able to provide more comprehensive coaching and feedback to students and graduates. Using the Experience system, counselors will be able to view each student’s LinkedIn profile along with job applications, event attendance and advising appointments, allowing a complete view of each student’s career search;
- University career administrators using the Experience platform will be able to identify prospective mentors and employers for relationship building by accessing their school’s alumni on LinkedIn.
“Experience has pioneered the online college recruiting market, and we are excited to be working with them to help millions of students and graduates launch fulfilling careers,” said Christina Allen, director of product management for LinkedIn. “Using their LinkedIn networks, students and graduates can reach out to people they know in companies that post jobs on Experience, and gain valuable insider insights to help them find their dream jobs.”
“Collaborating with LinkedIn gives Experience’s university partners, students and alumni a competitive edge in career advancement,” said Jenny Floren, CEO of Experience. “LinkedIn is the global leader in professional networking, and integrating their professional network with our career service platform will transform the way college students transition from school to the new world of work.”
The first wave of integration launches today, and can be accessed at www.experience.com. Additional services will continue to be rolled out over the next three months.
